New Game Plus: Your Second 30 Days
Finish the story once and NG+ unlocks: the campaign restarts, but Coen keeps his character level, all perk points spent, and his equipment. The prologue's horror becomes a victory lap — and the run becomes about everything you skipped.
What NG+ is actually for
- The endings you didn't pick. Even with the one-save method, watching all seven endings in one save file gets tedious. NG+ lets you live a different route properly — different companion, different castle assault.
- Missed content. Anything that died at sundown on your first Day 1 (see missables), questlines you never started (Vicho's is the most commonly missed), collectibles you walked past.
- Duelist difficulty. Uphill Battle asks you to save the people of Laslea on the hardest preset. Doing that with a level-50, legendary-geared Coen is a very different proposition from doing it fresh.
- The other build. Went swordplay first time? NG+ with a vampiric corruption build is almost a different game.
Set up your first run to make NG+ easy
- Finish at level 50 if you can — the Glass Ceiling trophy doubles as NG+ preparation.
- Complete the Arbiter's set (St. Mihai's sword and armour): endgame-tier gear that carries straight into NG+.
- Fill every slot with legendaries before the final fight — Gear of the Gods trophy now, stomping NG+ later.
- Don't hoard denarii for NG+'s sake — spend into your build; equipment is what carries, not intentions.
FAQ
Does The Blood of Dawnwalker have New Game Plus?
Yes. NG+ unlocks after finishing the story once. You restart the campaign keeping your character level, the points you spent on perks, and your equipment.
What carries over into NG+ in The Blood of Dawnwalker?
Confirmed carry-overs: character level, perk points already spent, and equipment. Community documentation on difficulty scaling changes in NG+ is still thin — we update this page as it solidifies.
Do I need NG+ for the platinum trophy?
Not strictly — the seven endings can all be reached from one manual save, and the collectibles fit in one run. But NG+ is the comfortable route for anything you missed and for the Duelist-difficulty trophy (Uphill Battle) with a maxed build.
