All 7 Endings, and How to Reach Each One
Your ending is decided by who stands with you at Brencis's door, whether the 30 days ran out, and a handful of dialogue choices. This page lists requirements without narrating the scenes themselves.
Ending 1: The Coward's Path (Bad)
Tied achievement: A Hero They Deserve
- After Smoke and Ashes, head south to the Coward's Path Shrine in Briar Sloughs
- Visit at night and use Planeshift + Shadowstep to climb the canyon to the broken bridge
- Cross the bridge, walk to the gates, and choose “leave the valley forever”
Coen abandons Vale Sangora and everything in it. Also unlocks the main achievement “The Blood of Dawnwalker”.
Ending 2: Time Runs Out (Bad)
- Fail to save Coen's family within 30 days (e.g. pass time at a shrine repeatedly)
- Watch the cutscene: Brencis kills Coen's family
- The objective changes from saving the family to avenging them
The pure time-limit failure. No unique trophy, but still grants the main “The Blood of Dawnwalker” achievement.
Ending 3: Together... Forever... (Bad)
Tied achievement: Together Forever
- Open the door of the southwest Silts Tower to start Home Sweet Home
- Ignore the well (do NOT inspect it with Focus Mode) and run the loop 4 times
- On the 5th loop Coen is home with his family — split logs, then talk to Esme in the kitchen
Xanthe's dream trap. To escape the loop instead: inspect the well with Focus Mode, then in the church flashback interact with Alin, Esme, then Coen in that order.
Ending 4: The Turncoat (Bad)
- Defeat Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe within 30 days (max infamy)
- Pass time to the next day to unlock “A Deal with the Devil”
- Agree to Brencis's deal: “I just want my family back”, then “I'll do it” — do not pick up a weapon
- Mark the Manumit Hideout (learn its location via The Firebrand, Shadows in the Woods, Where Loyalty Lies)
Coen betrays the rebellion to save his family. Picking up a weapon during the deal triggers a fight with Brencis instead.
Ending 5: Folk Hero (Good)
Tied achievement: The Folk Hero
- Confront and defeat Brencis on your own (dialogue: “Enough. Time to end this.”)
- Early route A: climb the castle wall at night with Planeshift + Shadowstep
- Early route B: the side entrance northwest of the Vedera Shallows Shrine — team up with Father Florin (In the Name of the Father) or loot the Side Gate Key from Gheorghe at Racovitza's Bandit Camp
You can rush Brencis's castle right after the Prologue and end the story early — solo.
Ending 6: The Patricide (Good)
Tied achievement: The Patricide
- Defeat Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe within 30 days (max infamy)
- Complete Lacra's full questline (A Friend Like This → … → Midnight Reckoning)
- Defeat Brencis together with Lacra while also saving Coen's family
Lacra stands with you against her sire.
Ending 7: Knyazmaker (Good)
Tied achievement: Knyazmaker
- Defeat Ambrus, Bakir and Xanthe within 30 days (max infamy)
- Complete Crake's full questline (The Firebrand → … → Fall Before Dusk)
- Defeat Brencis together with Crake and the Manumits while also saving Coen's family
The rebellion takes the castle — with you.
Character questlines behind the good endings
Endings 6 and 7 need a companion's full questline done within the 30 days. Follow Lacra's questline for The Patricide, or Crake's questline for Knyazmaker. Both are completable in a single run alongside the main objective if you budget roughly two in-game days per companion.
FAQ
How many endings does The Blood of Dawnwalker have?
Seven: four bad endings (The Coward's Path, Time Runs Out, Together... Forever..., The Turncoat) and three good endings (Folk Hero, The Patricide, Knyazmaker).
Can you get all endings in one playthrough of The Blood of Dawnwalker?
Yes. Make a manual save after defeating all three Vrakhiri Court members. Reloading that save lets you pursue each of the seven endings without replaying the game.
What is the best ending of The Blood of Dawnwalker?
The community generally treats Knyazmaker (defeat Brencis with Crake and the Manumits, family saved) as the most complete good ending, followed by The Patricide (with Lacra). “Best” is subjective — all three good endings save Coen's family.
